Scotland's Mandolin & Guitar Youth Orchestra

The Youth Orchestra Preparation Course

This course is for young people who wish to join Mango, Scotland's only Mandolin and Guitar Youth Orchestra.

Course participants will learn:

  • The parts which they will play in the orchestra
  • The layout of seating in the orchestra
  • How to interpret the conductor's gestures
  • Musical terms that are used in orchestral playing
  • How to practice music for the orchestra

Participants will have the chance to sit in on a Mango Youth Orchestra rehearsal, and to join in to see how it feels to be part of an orchestra!

Where: East Kilbride Arts Centre
When: For 4 weeks starting 5th March 2008, 4:45 to 5:45
