Sat 19th March 2011		Chris Acquavella masterclass and concert Christopher Acquavella is a classical mandolinist/guitarist currently residing in San Diego, California. He started playing guitar at the age of ten, studying with Robert Hoth and Peter Pupping. In 2001, Chris directed all of his attention to the classical mandolin. He graduated First Class Honors with a BMus (Hons) degree in Performance from Trinity College of Music in London, England. He studied under the instruction of Alison Stephens and participated in Master Class with Caterina Lichtenberg. See the Events page for more details and how to book.

Sun 6th February 2011		Workshop, Masterclass and recital by Allan Neave Allan Neave is the Senior Guitar Lecturer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and as a leading classical guitarist and teacher he is a regular performer at many of the worlds leading musical events. Sat 4th September 2010		How to Practise more Efficiently Workshop Many people ask, "How can I practise effectively, what should I practise, for how long should I practise, should I concentrate on just a few bars or play through the whole piece?" There are methods and ideas that can enhance the way you practise, and this workshop aims to provide some answers. The following aspects will be covered: selecting what to practise, analysing the problems to focus on, ideas on solving different musical and technical problems, and suggestions for making your practise even more effective in the future. The LGMA ran its popular series of mandolin workshops at Celtic Connections, in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.

LGMA Residential, Wiston Lodge, 16th - 18th May, 2008

The tutors in 2008 were Jochen Roß , Graeme Scott, Nigel Gatherer and Barbara Pommerenke-Steel.

The weekend included an orchestra comprising delegates and tutors; individual tuition, techniques classes and evening "get-together" and workshops. The topic for the weekend was "Cross Over".

BMG Festival & Rally 2008

Hosted in Scotland for the first time! February/March 2008. Participants can choose four from a selection of 15 workshops for fretted instruments. Read more on the rally page.

Celtic Connections 2008

For the last few years the Lanarkshire Guitar and Mandolin Association has run the mandolin workshops at Celtic Connections, Scotland's premier winter music festival, which takes place in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.
