Young People: Rock 'n Pop Guitar Classes

Beginners

The Beginners course starts off with the basics of guitar technique and attendees will learn to play music from classic rock acts and the latest bands.

Intermediate and Advanced

These classes will build on skills learned in earlier classes.

Please note that an electric guitar will be required for the Advanced class.

Content

All of the Rock and Pop Guitar classes are for Young People aged 12 years and older.

The classes cover a range of pop / rock music; from recent music including

• Kaiser Chiefs,
• Green Day,
• Biffy Clyro,
• Feeder,
• Foo Fighters and
• Oasis,

to classic rock/ pop acts including

• Guns 'n' Roses,
• Led Zeppelin,
• Bon Jovi,
• Metallica,
• Deep Purple
• Simon & Garfunkel, and
• Pink Floyd.

We mostly use chord windows and guitar tablature and we cover most aspects of basic rhythm and lead guitar.

Some of the young people in the classes have acoustic guitars and some have electric ones.

Tutor

These classes are run by Calum Harbison.

Sessions

Courses usually run in blocks of 10 weeks 3 times per year, with times following the school holiday periods.
