Tues 25th May 2010 The Guitar: Its Past and Present

These works are masterpieces of the Twentieth Century guitar repertoire each representing the sole contribution by each composer to the guitar's repertoire. Though varied in musical language - late Romaticism, atonality and minimalism - each displays the unique, innovative and idiomatic "guitar" culture of each composer - Flamenco (Defalla), Argentinian Pampas (Ginastera) and American Jazz and Rock (Reich).
